2011

NEXTGEN Distribution Australia founded after Oracle asked CEO John Walters to set up a new local Australian distributor.

2013

NEXTGEN Distribution New Zealand established following opportunities to expand the business across the Tasman Sea.

2014

NEXTGEN companies OPTIMA, CREATE, and CONNECT established.

2015

Inaugural Summer Party held. ORACLE Cloud Centre of Excellence established.

2016

NEXTGEN Distribution Australia regional Victorian (VIC) office opens.

2017

NEXTGEN acquires Bang - a leading brand, digital, creative agency. ORBUS Capital established. NEXTGEN head office relocates to North Sydney.

2018

NEXTGEN Distribution Australia regional Western Australia (WA) office opens.

2019

Inaugural Leadership Forum held. Inaugural Wise Forum held. ORACLE Cloud Centre of Excellence changes name to STRATUS.

2020

NEXTGEN Distribution Asia established. Singapore office becomes new Asia headquarters.

2021

oSpace launched. NEXTGEN Asia expands with Malaysia and Indonesia offices Gary Cox joins NEXTGEN Board. Business doubles in size in 36 months – vendors, revenue and headcount

2022

Increased digital marketing agency with strategic stake in Elastic Digital. NEXTGEN Asia expands with Philippines office. NEXTGEN expands ACT presence with the appointment of Mick Lehman. New Singapore office opened.

2024

NEXTGEN acquired by Exclusive Networks, the global cybersecurity specialist with the ability to serve customers in over 170 countries, to become the largest cybersecurity specialist in the southern hemisphere.

John Walters founded NEXTGEN Distribution in 2011 along with Steve Murphy, and has rapidly expanded NEXTGEN through relationships, trust and integrity.

Gavin Lawless

Managing Director / NEXTGEN Distribution Australia

Joining NEXTGEN Distribution in 2018, Gavin Lawless brings 25 years IT industry experience to his role as Managing Director of the Australian operation.

Lynne Jeffery

Managing Director / NEXTGEN Distribution New Zealand

Before joining the NEXTGEN, Lynne worked with NEC as Head of Public Safety Solutions leading the growth of NEC’s biometric business in New Zealand.

Dominic Calandra

Chief Financial Officer / NEXTGEN

Dominic is a strong finance leader with a passion for people and the future, formerly a Director of Finance and Legal for NTT Com ICT.

James Cunial

Chief Technology Officer / NEXTGEN

James began working in the IT industry in 2009 before joining NEXTGEN in 2011 near its inception. As CTO he drives the technical strategy and capability of NEXTGEN to deliver exceptional customer experience for vendors and partners.

Jay Turner

A senior executive with a track record of growing and scaling businesses locally and internationally. Over the last 25 years, Jay has led divisions in large multi nationals and directed small to medium organisations to fast growth for investment.

Cameron Avery

As founder of Elastic Digital, Cameron bootstrapped his company to be a market leader in channel marketing automation for a client base that includes some of the world’s largest B2B IT companies.

Amarish leads Optima, an independent and non-reselling Cloud Advisory and Consulting practice specializing in Cloud Economics, Software Licensing Advisory, Cloud Migration Readiness and C level advisory.

James has worked in IT since 2007, providing clients with personal, investment and corporate advisory services at Kaz Capital. He later brought his passion for finance, technology, and commercial realities into NEXTGEN.
